The Copperfield Semi-AnnualThe Newsletter of The Copperfield Subdivision |
We have arranged for Key Sanitation, Inc. to pick up yard waste (grass clippings and shrub trimmings) on Thursdays from April thru October. Put your bagged yard waste out at the street along with the normal trash for collection.
We finally had our Annual meeting on March 20. This meeting was re-scheduled three (3) times due to poor attendance. The Board would like to remind all homeowners that we are required to have this meeting annually and that we can not conduct business with out a quorum. Each time we schedule, advertise and mail out information for these meetings it costs the HOA approximately $200! We do not have the budget to continue in this fashion. It is very important that someone from each household make an attempt to show up or submit a proxy vote form to Walter Hoffman. This is your money that we're wasting!
Several residents voiced complaints regarding people walking their dogs. It seems that most owners clean up after their pets but we still have several who do not. If you notice anyone who does not clean up after their dog please take a moment and say something to them, even if it's not your yard. Another subject of discussion was owners who do not have their dogs on leashes. If you own a dog please do not assume that your neighbors want it running thru their yard. Many people in Copperfield have dogs that stay in their yards and they do not want your dog coming into their yard. This drives their dog crazy. There are even reports of owners who permit the dog to pee in yards where they know another dog lives. Again, if you notice this behavior please mention it to the dog owner. Please note that these are not HOA rules but Frederick County Ordinances.
Several residents have concerns with the roadway shoulders at intersections. Due to the severe weather this past winter, many drivers have ventured off of the edge of the roadway causing tire ruts. Corner lot owners are trying to reestablish grass in these areas and are asking all drivers to make an effort to stay on the paved surface.
Ed Day has contacted the Frederick County Highway Department to come out and look at Copperfield Drive. Apparently his call did the trick! I notice several areas that are painted for repair. We should all thank Ed when we have the opportunity.
