Volume 1 - Issue 10

January, 2005

From the Board

Once again our annual HOA meeting was a bust. Scheduled for November 4th, the attendance was not enough to establish a quorum and had to be postponed. According to our covenants, 25 households (represented either in person or by proxy) must be present or no business can be conducted. We only had about 10 people and 10 proxies. The next attempt will be sometime in February. Please look for a notice and a new proxy form to be mailed from Walter Hoffman.

From the Editor

With regards to the Annual HOA meeting, I have created a small sign that I will post several days prior to the upcoming meeting. The sign will be located at the end of Copperfield Drive. I hope that the sign will remind everyone to attend the February meeting.

Community News

Cooperfield deserves coodos for planting!

CONGRATS Copperfield, on another year of PLANTING.  As a fairly regular walker, I have had the pleasure of seeing more people out planting once again, this spring and summer.  This spring, more flowering trees, shade trees, pines, and just flowers in general were blooming, making Copperfield one of the better looking neighborhoods in Frederick County.  Not only does all of our hard work look good, but the value to wildlife, air purification, and to those of us who like pines and firs, a good source of wind block, which helps reduce heat costs, and the legacy planting leaves future generations.  The more trees we plant, the less noticeable our roads are--they become tree lined lanes.  Trees blend our houses into the natural environment.  Trees provide great frames for homes, accents, and provide shade for our kids to play in. In the fall, not only do we get the burst of glorious reds, yellows and oranges, but hours of fun for our kids, and a great work out for ourselves as we rake.  Plus, as our property values go up because having a well landscaped neighborhood has a direct effect on property value--resale is easier on a home with trees and flower beds.  So congrats to all you tree planters this year--the neighborhood is looking great!
