The Copperfield Semi-AnnualThe Newsletter of The Copperfield Subdivision |
We need to see more homeowners attend the annual HOA meeting or submit the proxy votes to Walter Hoffman. Our last scheduled meeting (December 4th, 2003) was only attended by approximately 5 Board members and 12 residents. Without 25 households represented either in person or by proxy, no business can be conducted and the meeting has to be rescheduled. Each time, the meeting must be re-advertised at a cost of $165 and notices have to be copied and re-mailed to each home at a cost of $ 59. This is money that the HOA does not have in our budget, so please make the effort to attend.
Thank You.
With the holidays and bad weather upon us, I'm getting more letters from homeowners regarding parking in the streets. When having a party, please ask your guests to be more considerate when parking in the grass. The shoulders can get tore up quite easily with the wet soils.

A reminder that the number in parenthesis shown on your HOA dues' invoice is an account number that Walter uses for each subdivision that he manages. It is not your lot number.

Congratulations to Arleta Balogott who earned her black belt in Karate after 6 years of lessons. Arleta is only 13 years old!
Several red fox have been spotted in the area around Overlook Park. Please keep an eye on your outdoor pets and try to avoid placing bagged trash at the curb without a trash can.
Cold, tired?? Need a little pick me up? How about a little taste of Greece, served up hot to keep you warm during our long, cold Northern winters.....this is a great Black Bean Stew (taken from Mediterranean, a taste of the sun in over 150 recipes, by Jacueline Clark and Joanna Farrow).
You will need:
Put the beans in a bowl (I prefer canned, and skip the soaking) boil for 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 325 F. Cut meant into large chunks...in a frying pan, fry the onions and celery (yes, the celery) for 3 minutes, and pork, fry for 5 to 10...until browned. Add spices, and then move to oven proof dish. Add stock to pan, boil, season again, and pour over meat and beans. Cover and bake for 1 hour. Stir in green peppers and return to oven for 15 minutes.
We are pleased to announce that we recently adopted two children (brother and sister) from Russia......our son, Riley Booth who is three years old........and our daughter Rebecca Booth who is two years old. We all arrived home December 12, 2003 and are settling in just fine.
Kind Regards,
Jen & Tim Booth
