Copperfield Trash Pickup Schedule for 2012

Trash Pickup: Mondays & Thursdays

Yard Waste Recycling Pickup: Wednesdays, seasonal April 4th thru November 28th.
Christmas Tree Recycling Pickup: Wednesday, January 11th & 18th.

Place trash streetside by 6:00 AM but no earlier than 7:00 PM the evening before. There are no next-day "makeup" pickups after observed holidays listed:

New Year's Day (observed), Monday, January 2nd. No trash pickup. Next trash pickup day will be Thursday, January 5th.
Memorial Day, Monday, May 28th. No trash pickup. Next trash pickup day will be Thursday, May 31st.
Labor Day, Monday, September 3rd. No trash pickup. Next trash pickup day will be Thursday, September 6th.
Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22nd. No trash pickup. Next trash pickup day will be Monday, November 26th.

Yard Waste Recycling must be placed in brown paper bags (no plastic bags for yard waste). Do not put yard wast out on Monday or Thursday as it will not be picked up as residential trash. Final yard waste pickup for 2011 season is Wednesday, November 28th.

Residential Recycling - Copperfield's recycling days are on alternating Tuesdays. Call Frederick County Recycling Office at 301-600-1848 if you need a new bin or have questions.

Acceptable items for recycling include:
Paper: newspapers, phone books and mixed paper (junk mail, writing paper, envelopes, catalogs, glossy inserts and boxboard) tied in bundles or bagged in paper (NOT Plastic) bags.
Cans: aluminum and steel cans.
Plastic Bottles: small-mouth only (Please remove lids). Please do note that motor oil, antifreeze, pesticide, large-mouth, and/or other plastic containers - regardless of the universal recycling symbol - are NOT acceptable.
Cardboard: flattened and bundled no larger than 2.5' square (no wax coated boxes).
Glass: brown, green and clear glass bottles (PLEASE REMOVE LIDS).

Should recycling be canceled due to inclement weather and road conditions, there will be no recycling pickup that week. Please call the Frederick County Recycling Office weather hotline at 301-600-1848 for weather-related updates. You may also deposit recyclables at the Ruritan Center recycling bins in between county pickups.
